Writing a story that isn't believable

Avoid writing a story that isn't believable. So you mean 'write a believable story'. Got it.

Believable even in a completely unbelievable world. The story can be about pumpkin people living inside a tiny shoe, but the experience they have needs to reflect life. That's the real trick. Put truth within fiction. That's the real perfect recipe that people love. Because everyone hates reality. They want to be taken into a fictional reality. People love escape, and fantasy and they hate reality. But they want reality to exist within their fiction. Because we can't escape reality. What want are lessons that help us through life in a simulation of it through narrative. (This is Joseph Campbell's stuff. Read about him if you really want to get deep with it). And what I think a lot of people love these days, which is why Marvel is so popular, is to go on a mental holiday/vacation to escape how shit their life is working in a real job in the capitalist world. Other people just love art, and they seek poetry and other shit like that. And you get more stylistic and philsophical writing, like Charles Bukowski or Albert Camus or some shit. And that stuff's the bomb if you can really go into that head space. John Fante is great. It doesn't follow any pattern, it's just a ride, and it's not surreal or weird like 1984 is or Alice in Wonderland. So there's no formulae. Just don't be boring. Think deeply about it. Charles Bukowski said every single beat, every word, needs to have its own juice. Make each word electrically charged. It has to go bim-bim-bim.

 I saw franc moody in the Applo, Hammersmith. His biggest hit was Dopmaine. It felt so profound as we were all there getting flooded by the stuff the lyrics were about. It was our fuel. Poem: Poets at work.

  We must protect the poets. We must save the artists and the writers and the buskers. Our streets and our cities bustle and pumps. Bodies drag frowns and swift moving legs through corridors of concrete. Quick they move. Fast/ Go-go-go/ No stop. No time to admire the view.   Music smooths the edges and softens the blows and gentles the cracking of the capitalist whip. Like a finger in the sands of my mind, a simple thought is written. A wonderful soul-changing idea. A fragile story. A delicate flutter in the heart. A floating petle hints at something joyous. The breeze of distraction wipes out its form. Are we living in delusion? The stoic absurdist answer to mental freedom and clarity on truth.

Neil De Grasse Tyson once said. "If your personal beliefs deny what's objectively true about the the world, then they're more accurately called personal delusions." I believe this to be true. But I also believe it to be inescapable. N o one operates outside of some sort of delusion. We are all victims of the narratives we find ourselves in; religious, political, cultural, familial, and even ones we create just for ourselves. How can any of us really know what is "true" or how things work. Some people can only find meaning in their life by making something up, with an opinion that "I am special" or "The world is like this.. and so my duty is to do this.."
